The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

The SNL “Weekend Update” co-anchors made a surprise appearance last night to tell jokes they missed over the summer.

The Tonight Show‘s move to Friday repeats puts Fallon in line with Kimmel, Colbert and Meyers. “As a group, we have a little text chain of all the late-night talk show hosts,” Kimmel told reporters backstage at this weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys. “All of us sent our congratulations to Jimmy Fallon for getting Friday off.” [via Deadline]

In a visit with the Today show crew this morning, Fallon explained that the new Halloween-themed attraction being built below 30 Rock is based on his own actual nightmares. Cue Carson Daly with the zinger: “Is Jay Leno down there?”
