CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took first place in the late night ratings race on Tuesday, October 15, holding strong at No. 1 in total viewers, while moving past ABC in P18-49 viewing.

Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show featured guests Jason Segel and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, and it averaged 2,144,000 total viewers with 249,000 P18-49 at 11:35 p.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. Despite winning both measurements, the episode shed -4% in total viewers and -6% among P18-49 from the night before, and -26% and -16%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday’s episode. Week-to-week viewer growth was never going to happen for The Late Show on Tuesday because the prior Tuesday’s episode featured an appearance by VP Kamala Harris — delivering Colbert his second-largest live-plus-same-day audience of the year to-date.

That’s up +10% in total viewers and an impressive +106% in P18-49 from the previous night’s repeat, and +7% and +19%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday (a new episode).

Following Fallon was a repeat of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ Sept. 11, 2024 episode. Featuring Demi Moore, and Jonathan Pryce, the 12:35 a.m. NBC telecast averaged 679,000 total viewers with 135,000 P18-49.
