Jon Stewart is taking the class on a little field trip.
This week, The Daily Show is in Chicago to cover the Democratic National Convention. The special episodes, which will be broadcast from the Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture, are part of the Comedy Central show’s Indecision 2024 coverage.
Michael Kosta kicks things off as Monday’s host, followed by the News Team’s Desi Lydic and Jordan Klepper taking over on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. This week’s guests include Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Monday, Illinois Rep. Lauren Underwood on Tuesday, and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Wednesday.Â
On Thursday, Stewart will bring it all home by hosting a live show following the closing night of the convention. The broadcast will air at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT—a half-hour later than the show’s usual time slot.
Stewart and his team had previously planned to also cover the Republican National Convention live from Milwaukee, but scrapped the scheduled shows amidst increased security concerns following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
The Daily Show has already had a busy trip. On Sunday, the team hosted The Daily Show Presents: InDogCision 2024: Rescuing Democracy in collaboration with rescue organization PAWS Chicago. The dog adoption event gave fans a chance to meet correspondents, find the perfect pup to adopt, and register to vote via HeadCount.
Stewart and his crew aren’t the only late-night team in the Windy City this week. Stephen Colbert will also be in Chicago to cover the DNC, broadcasting The Late Show from the famed Auditorium Theatre (and his pal, hot dog vendor Donny Franks, has reportedly been spotted in Chicago, too).
