Sarah Sherman Will Guest on The Chris Gethard Show’s Big Return

Fresh off an appearance on Thursday night’s live Peacock special Colin Jost & Michael Che Present: New York After Dark, Sarah Sherman will join another livestream tonight.

Sherman—or, more precisely, Sarah Squirm—will guest on tonight’s (brief) resurrection of The Chris Gethard Show.

Comedian Chris Gethard’s cult-favorite former late-night show is returning for one night only as part of the Upright Citizens Brigade’s grand reopening of its New York City theater. The talk show originally ran from 2009 to 2018 in a few different homes, including live at UCB, then broadcast on Manhattan public access TV, Fusion, and truTV. It was executive produced by J.D. Amato, who was just named co-showrunner on After Midnight.

Sherman, who has been a cast member on Saturday Night Live since 2021, has been on the road this summer under her “Sarah Squirm” moniker, which she often uses when performing the surrealist and body horror comedy for which she has become known.

Gethard announced his “special guest” on social media, adding that the return of TCGS itself “may be a bad idea… I have no idea if it will be good.” The show will also feature music from Cold Wrecks.

While in-person tickets for The Chris Gethard Show sold out in less than 25 minutes when they went on sale last month, the host recently announced that the show will also be livestreamed. Tickets for the livestream are available at this link. The show is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET tonight.

Sherman is expected to return to SNL as its 50th season premieres on September 28.
