Jimmy Fallon has a little more company at 11:35 this week, as Jimmy Kimmel Live! returns from its two-week break with Anthony Anderson in the guest-host chair. Otherwise, late night’s August pattern remains largely unchanged: Seth Meyers and The Daily Show are still in extended summer breaks, Byron Allen’s CBS block remains in repeats, and the news-oriented and weekly shows continue to (mostly) keep the lights on.

Jimmy Kimmel Live!
On, with guest host Anthony Anderson. Jimmy Kimmel remains on his annual summer vacation, but Jimmy Kimmel Live! is back from its two-week break, with Anthony Anderson kicking off the show’s final stretch of summer guest hosts.
Anderson opens his week tonight with Ewan McGregor, Anne Hathaway, and Rep. Jasmine Crockett, followed by Magic Johnson and Aaron Pierre on Tuesday. Kyle Chandler and Hannah Einbinder visit Wednesday, with Dave Franco and Jaylen Brown closing out the week Thursday.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
On. Jimmy Fallon remains in originals this week. The Tonight Show welcomes Kristen Stewart, Dominic Sessa, and Ravyn Lenae tonight, followed by Dakota Fanning, 50 Cent, Jon Lovitz, and Ainsley Bailey on Tuesday. Matthew McConaughey and KATSEYE visit Wednesday, with Adam Scott, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Dogstar closing out the week Thursday.
Comics Unleashed
Gone. Both nightly installments of Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen airing in CBS’ late-night block remain in repeats this week.
Funny You Should Ask
Gone. The second hour of Byron Allen’s CBS late-night block also remains in repeat mode. Funny You Should Ask has been airing repeats in both of its half hours since assuming CBS’ 12:35 a.m. slot in late May. As LateNighter has reported, the show is headed back into production this week, with new episodes set to start airing in the show’s first half hour on September 21.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
Gone. Seth Meyers remains off this week as Late Night continues its unprecedented seven-week break. The show is scheduled to return with new episodes September 21.
Nightline
On. ABC’s late-night newsmagazine is scheduled to continue airing new episodes this week.
The Daily Show
Gone. The Daily Show is dark through the month of August. The series is scheduled to return with new episodes September 8, with alternate programming airing in its timeslot.
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
On. Andy Cohen is keeping his Bravo clubhouse open this week, with new editions of Watch What Happens Live scheduled Monday through Thursday. Kat Johnston and Galyna Saltkovska visit tonight, followed by Meg Stalter and Paul W. Downs on Tuesday, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Emira D’Spain on Wednesday, and D’Arcy Carden and Emily Simpson on Thursday.
Gutfeld!
On. As with most cable news shows, Gutfeld! is scheduled to continue with new episodes throughout the summer, using guest hosts when needed.
Real Time with Bill Maher
On. Bill Maher is scheduled to continue with a new episode of Real Time this Friday.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
On. John Oliver is also on deck this weekend, with a new episode of Last Week Tonight scheduled for Sunday.
Saturday Night Live
Gone. No change here: Saturday Night Live remains on summer hiatus after closing out Season 51 in May. The show is set to kick off Season 52 on September 26, 2026, with repeats continuing in the meantime.
