Late Night Ratings: Wednesday, July 10, 2024

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split first place in the late-night ratings race for Wednesday, July 10.

The Late Show averaged 1,798,000 total viewers with only 149,000 P18-49 on Wednesday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -8% and -37%, respectively from Tuesday’s episode; +41% and +8%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday (a rebroadcast). Colbert’s July 10 Late Show guests were Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, and Martha Stewart.

The Tonight Show averaged 1,230,000 total viewers with 203,000 P18-49 viewers at 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -8% in total viewers, but +34% in P18-49 from Tuesday’s episode; +10% and +27%, respectively, from the prior Wednesday (a rebroadcast). Fallon welcomed Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, and Keith Robinson to The Tonight Show this past Wednesday. Common & Pete Rock featuring Posdnuos and Bilal performed on the program.

With Kathryn Hahn as guest host, the Wednesday, July 10 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged only 996,000 total viewers with 108,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -8% and -19%, respectively, from the show’s Tuesday episode. ABC did not provide Nielsen with viewer data for the week-ago Kimmel. Hahn welcomed Seth Rogen, and Joe Locke to the program this past Wednesday. Cigarettes After Sex performed.

Following The Tonight Show, NBC presented a a new episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers at 12:35 a.m., which averaged 869,000 total viewers with 156,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +13% in total viewers and +46% in P18-49 from Tuesday’s episode; +26% and +54%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday’s telecast (a rebroadcast). Meyers welcomed Whoopi Goldberg to the program on Wednesday, July 10. Kate Schellenbach sat in with the 8G Band.

Following Colbert’s Late Show was a new episode of After Midnight. The episode averaged 508,000 total viewers with 64,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -27% and -57%, respectively, from the program’s highly-rated Tuesday episode; -6% and -16%, respectively, from the previous Wednesday telecast (a rebroadcast). Chrissy Teigen, Adam Pally, and Sandy Honig appeared on the Taylor Tomlinson-led program.

Following Kimmel, ABC aired a new episode of Nightline, and it averaged 632,000 total viewers with 62,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +1% in total viewers and +15% in P18-49 viewers from Tuesday’s episode. As was the case for its Kimmel lead-in, ABC did not provide Nielsen with viewer data for the previous Wednesday’s Nightline.

Desi Lydic and Jordan Klepper co-hosted The Daily Show‘s Tuesday through Thursday episodes this week, and their Wednesday episode averaged only 374,000 total viewers with 50,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -13% and -48%, respectively, from Tuesday’s episode; -19% and -64%, respectively, from TDS’ most-recent Wednesday episode (June 26, 2024). Klepper and Lydic welcomed “The Fall of Roe” co-authors Elizabeth Dias, Lisa Lere to The Daily Show this past Wednesday.
