Late Night Ratings: Monday, November 4, 2024

An ABC Monday Night Football ratings halo effect lifted Jimmy Kimmel Live! to victory on Monday, November 4, with the show outperforming its counterparts both in total viewers and among the key P18-49 demographic.

Monday’s Kimmel averaged 2,152,000 total viewers with 331,000 P18-49 at 12:06 a.m., per Nielsen live plus same day data. That’s up +22% in total viewers and +13% among P18-49 from the previous Monday’s episode (Oct. 28). Freddie Freeman, Allison Janney, and Stevie Nicks were Kimmel’s guests on Monday. Nicks also performed in-studio. Following JKL, ABC’s half-hour news program Nightline also defeated its NBC and CBS counterparts, having averaged 1,155,000 total viewers with 192,000 P18-49 at 1:08 a.m. That’s up +17% in total viewers and +35% in P18-49 from the previous Monday.

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert finished behind ABC but ahead of its NBC 11:35 p.m. counterpart on Monday. Featuring guests Gov. Tim Walz and John Oliver, the Monday, Nov. 4 Late Show averaged 2,141,000 total viewers with 284,000 P18-49 in its usual timeslot. That’s up +10% in total viewers and +11% in P18-49 from the previous Monday’s episode.

Airing after The Late ShowAfter Midnight averaged 606,000 total viewers with 136,000 P18-49 on CBS. That’s up +7% in total viewers and +31% among P18-49 from the previous Monday’s episode. Rhys Nicholson, Rekha Shankar, and Paul F. Tompkins were Taylor Tomlinson’s guests on the program.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon finished behind its ABC and CBS counterparts on Monday, having averaged 1,219,000 total viewers with 218,000 P18-49 at 11:35 p.m. That’s still up +8% in total viewers and +34% in P18-49 from the previous Monday’s episode. Fallon was joined on Monday’s Tonight Show by guests Kevin Kline, and Lester Holt. Maddie Wiener performed her standup act on the program.

Featuring Keri Russell and J.B. Smoove as guests, the Monday, Nov. 4 episode of NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 849,000 total viewers with 128,000 P18-49 at 12:37 a.m. That’s down -4% in total viewers and -6% in P18-49 from the previous Monday’s episode.

Lastly, The Daily Show was hosted by Jordan Klepper (and not Jon Stewart) on Election Eve, and Monday’s episode averaged 540,000 total viewers with 108,000 viewers aged 18-49, per Nielsen live plus same day data. That’s down -18% in total viewers and -4% in P18-49 from the most recent Monday Daily Show (hosted by Stewart). The Atlantic staff writer Adam Serwer was Klepper’s guest on the program.
