Comedy Central’s “Best F**king News Team” is back tonight, with the first in a shortened week of new Daily Show episodes.
Jon Stewart kicks things off Monday with New York Times White House correspondents Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, who are promoting their new book Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump.
Josh Johnson will then host The Daily Show Tuesday and Wednesday nights. This will mark Johnson’s fourth cycle behind the desk in 2026, following his previous stints the weeks of January 20, March 23, and April 27.
On Tuesday night, Johnson welcomes Lou Diamond Phillips, who is promoting the new film Gangland, which he wrote, directed, and stars in.
Wednesday brings comedian, actor, and host Jay Pharoah, who will be promoting Fox’s game show The Quiz with Balls and his new album The Odyssey.
The Daily Show will be dark Thursday, heading off a day early for an extended one-week vacation surrounding the July 4 holiday. The show is set to return Tuesday, July 7.
Johnson recently kicked off his new 34-city Comedy Band Camp Tour, following the May 22 release of his first HBO special, which spent two weeks on HBO Max’s Top Ten Most-Watched list.
The popular comic/veteran Daily Show writer joined the Comedy Central program’s host rotation midway through its 2025 run and immediately connected with viewers—particularly those in the advertiser-coveted 18–49 demo.
The Daily Show airs weeknights at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central and is available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
