After five seasons at Netflix, David Letterman is serving up at least one more episode of his streaming interview series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction–and for those in attendance at the Monday night taping in Indiana, the show’s title certainly rang true.
That’s because Letterman’s guest was Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever.
We knew that the late-night legend planned to sit down with the WNBA star as part of Letterman’s lecture series at his alma mater Ball State. What we didn’t know was that the conversation would be recorded for a future episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.
Beyond their appearance together on stage, Letterman and Clark were also spotted filming around Indianapolis on Tuesday, including a stop at the legendary Long’s Bakery.

Letterman is no stranger to Long’s—when accepting a local Indianapolis leadership award in 2020, Letterman tossed Long’s doughnuts out to audience members.
The WNBA rookie of the year reportedly joined Letterman on stage for 70 minutes in front of a sold-out crowd.
My Next Guest premiered in 2018, less than three years after Letterman left his 20+ year perch at Late Show. He returned to interviewing with his retirement beard, hosting a show based on the idea of only doing interviews with huge names.
His first guest was former President Barack Obama. The show’s most recent season dropped in June, featuring Miley Cyrus and Charles Barkley.
The show follows a significantly lighter schedule than Letterman had in even the later years of his CBS late-night show. Seasons have ranged from two to six episodes, along with a handful of specials over the years—a total of 28 episodes have been released in its six-year history.
Letterman also recorded a special that was released in between seasons, speaking with John Mulaney shortly ahead of the comedian’s run hosting John Mulaney Presents: Everybody’s in L.A. Mulaney is set to return to Netflix talk-show hosting in February.
A release date for Caitlin Clark’s episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman has yet to be announced. We’ll keep you updated.
