SNL‘s Ben Marshall Joins Marcello Hernández in Kevin Hart Film 72 Hours

Saturday Night Live writer and Please Don’t Destroy member Ben Marshall has joined the cast of a new Netflix feature film.

Variety reports that Marshall has joined the cast of 72 Hours, an upcoming comedy led by Kevin Hart. The film will reunite Marshall with SNL castmate Marcello Hernández, who boarded the project in May and is reportedly playing the Best Man in a bachelor party that doesn’t go as planned.

The movie centers on a group of friends whose weekend getaway takes a chaotic turn when they’re unexpectedly joined by a 40-year-old executive (Hart) looking to revive his career—and possibly his youth. Details on Marshall’s role remain under wraps, but given his comedy pedigree, expect something offbeat.

This marks the second major film project for Marshall, who—along with his Please Don’t Destroy partners  John Higgins and Martin Herlihy—co-wrote and starred in 2023’s Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain. That film, produced by Judd Apatow, brought the trio’s absurdist tone to a wider audience and further solidified their place in the current comedy landscape.

Outside of Studio 8H, Marshall has been popping up with increasing frequency. He made a recent guest appearance on Peacock’s Poker Face and has lent his face (and comedic timing) to ad campaigns for AwayBeats, and Goldfish .

The Please Don’t Destroy team isn’t slowing down, either—as we’ve reported, they’ve got a string of live dates scheduled this summer and a tour documentary/special on the way.
