Sarah Squirm (aka Sarah Sherman) Sets Debut Comedy Special

Sarah Sherman—well, Sarah Squirm—is taping her first live special next month. The Saturday Night Live cast member has announced a pair of special shows dubbed “An Evening with Sarah Squirm: Live + in the Flesh” in New York City next month.

Sherman will tape the special over two shows at The Bell House in Brooklyn on August 23rd. There’s no word yet on where the special will be released.

“I need you to be there SCREAMING and dressed in you[r] SARAH SQUIRM BEST,” Sherman wrote alongside the show announcement and a poster by artist Alex Pardee.

Sherman kicked off her “Live + in the Flesh” show in May 2024.

Sherman began performing standup under the name Sarah Squirm over a decade ago, eventually hosting the monthly Chicago comedy show Helltrap Nightmare before joining SNL in 2021. At Lorne Michaels’ urging, she performs using her birth name on SNL, though she’s managed to bring the body horror comedy sensibility she embodies as Sarah Squirm along with her to the sketch show.

The SNL player has been racking up screen time as of late. The comedian has also signed on to appear in The Untitled BriTANicK Pizza Movie, and is set to team up with two SNL writers for the upcoming Netflix film Roommates.

Sherman’s summer 2025 itinerary has included stops in Salt Lake City, Vancouver, and Seattle. Upcoming dates include Massachusetts, Indianapolis, Philadelphia.

Quite a few SNL cast members have been actively touring their standup this summer, including Andrew Dismukes and James Austin Johnson—both of whom have stops scheduled at The Bell House in the days following Sherman’s two shows. Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Jane Wickline, and Please Don’t Destroy are all touring this summer, as well.

Tickets for the live taping of Sarah Squirm: Live + in the Flesh are on sale now for both an early show and late show.
