With summer now officially underway (Happy Solstice!), late night is beginning its seasonal slowdown, with several shows already in reruns and others squeezing in a few more originals before going dark.
Here’s who’s on the week of June 22, who’s off, and who’s soon to follow:
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Gone. Jimmy Kimmel bid farewell to viewers last Thursday as he headed off on his annual summerlong vacation. His show gets a shorter breather: Jimmy Kimmel Live! is going dark for two weeks before returning with new episodes—and its first summer guest host, Tiffany Haddish—on July 6. (Kimmel’s summer guest host roster will also include Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, Jelly Roll, and Rosie O’Donnell.) Kimmel himself is expected to return after Labor Day.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
On. It’s still all systems go for Jimmy Fallon and team this week, as The Tonight Show airs originals featuring guests including Reese Witherspoon, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Millie Bobby Brown, Milly Alcock, and sombr. The Tonight Show is slated to begin a two-week break of its own after this Thursday night’s show.
Comics Unleashed
On (with an asterisk). Though Comics Unleashed is produced in a deliberately evergreen format, allowing episodes to be repeated indefinitely, the first half of the show’s one-hour CBS block is typically first-run—and that remains the case this week. The show’s second half hour this week will be a selection of episodes that first aired last month.
Funny You Should Ask
Gone (with an asterisk). With no new episodes of Funny You Should Ask currently being produced, there’s nothing particularly unusual about the second hour of Byron Allen’s CBS late-night block consisting of episodes that have aired previously in syndication.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
Gone. Seth Meyers and team are already off for the summer’s first extended break. The show begins a three-week hiatus tonight, with Late Night scheduled to return with new episodes July 13.
Nightline
On. As a news-oriented show, repeats aren’t a part of the equation for Nightline, which is scheduled to air new episodes this week as it does nearly every weeknight year-round.
The Daily Show
On (mostly). The Daily Show will also be new this week, though its week will end early. Comedy Central’s flagship series is set to air originals Monday through Wednesday before getting a head start on its one-week vacation Thursday. The show is scheduled to return with new episodes July 7.
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
On. Andy Cohen’s Bravo clubhouse is open this week, with a guest lineup that includes Michelle Buteau, Jerry O’Connell, former SNL cast member Ego Nwodim, and Sunday Today anchor Willie Geist. Historically, Watch What Happens Live has gone dark the week leading up to the Fourth of July holiday, which falls next week this year.
Gutfeld!
On. No rest for Gutfeld!—or at least for his production team. Though Greg Gutfeld himself takes a week of vacation here and there, Gutfeld!—like most shows on cable news—plows through with guest hosts and new episodes almost every weeknight of the year.
FIFA World Cup on FOX After Hours with James Corden
On. James Corden’s World Cup-themed late-night pop-up is scheduled to produce new episodes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday nights this week. All told, the six-week limited series is producing 24 episodes before signing off alongside FOX’s World Cup coverage on July 15.
Real Time with Bill Maher
On. Bill Maher will front a new episode of Real Time this Friday. After that, the long-running HBO series is expected to take a three-to-four-week summer break through July.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
On. John Oliver is also on deck for this coming weekend, with a new episode of Last Week Tonight airing Sunday, June 28. After that, Oliver begins a three-week summer break, with his HBO weekly series returning with new episodes July 31.
Saturday Night Live
Gone. No surprise here, as Saturday Night Live closed out its 51st season over a month ago. The show is expected to kick off Season 52 on October 3, 2026.

Does it make a sound?
Nope, but it will pretend to be a joke and relevant when it is neither.
