CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split first place in the ratings for the second consecutive week.
Per Nielsen live-plus-three data, Colbert’s Late Show averaged 2,484,000 total viewers with 217,000 P18-49 viewers for the week of May 13, 2024. That’s -1% in total viewers and -18% in P18-49 viewers compared with the week prior (week of May 6). The Late Show‘s ratings are based off of four new episodes (Monday through Thursday) and a repeat (Friday). This was also the true for the week prior.
Per Nielsen live-plus-three data, The Tonight Show averaged the most P18-49 viewers for the week of May 13 with 241,000. In total, the show averaged 1,533,000 total linear viewers for the week. Compared with the week prior, Fallon’s Tonight Show gained +4% in total viewers and +2% in P18-49 viewers. Unlike its 11:35 p.m. counterparts, Tonight Show aired new episodes on all five days last week (Monday-Friday).
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! was dark last week, and aired rebroadcasts of old episodes in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot. The network did not submit week of May 13 viewing data to Nielsen.
CBS’ After Midnight averaged 623,000 total viewers with 105,000 P18-49 viewers per live-plus-three Nielsen data for the week of May 13. That’s -13% in total viewers and -30% in P18-49 viewers from the week prior. After Midnight aired new episodes on Monday through Thursday, and a repeat on Friday; the same format as the week before.
NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 1,003,000 total viewers with 162,000 P18-49 per live-plus-three data for the week of May 13. That’s -3% in total viewers and -7% in P18-49 viewers from the week prior. Late Night aired new episodes on Monday through Thursday, and a repeat on Friday.
ABC’s Nightline averaged 740,000 total viewers with 101,000 P18-49 for the week of May 13. That’s -14% in total viewers, and -23% in P18-49 viewers from the week prior. Nightline aired new episodes on all five days last week.
Lastly, for the week of May 13, The Daily Show was hosted by Jon Stewart on Monday, and Desi Lydic Tuesday through Thursday. The program averaged 915,000 total viewers and 185,000 P18-49 viewers across the four days, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s -0.2% in total viewers but up +13% in P18-49 viewers versus the previous week of new episodes (week of May 6), when Stewart held court on Thursday, as opposed to Monday.
