The Late Show averaged 1,973,000 total viewers with 212,000 P18-49 on Tuesday, July 23, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s % and %, respectively, from the day before; % and %, respectively, from the previous Tuesday episode. Colbert welcomed Matthew Macfadyen, and John M. Chu to the Tuesday’s program.
Despite a second-place finish, NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon posted substantial day-to-day and week-to-week viewer growth on Tuesday. The program gained +27% in total viewers and +18% in P18-49 viewers from the day before; +37% in total viewers and +69% in P18-49 from the previous Tuesday. Hugh Jackman, Ralph Macchio, and John Owen Lowe were Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show guests this past Tuesday. Ayra Starr performed on the program.
Lamorne Morris guest-hosted ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Tuesday, and the episode averaged 990,000 total viewers with only 87,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -3% and -48%, respectively, from the previous day’s episode (which Morris also guest-hosted); +9% and -28%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday episode (guest-hosted by Anthony Anderson). Zachary Levi, and Billy Magnussen were Morris’ guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Tuesday. Aaron Frazer performed on the program.
Following The Tonight Show, NBC presented a rebroadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ July 9, 2024 episode. The 12:35 a.m. telecast averaged 759,000 total viewers with 117,000 P18-49. That’s +30% and +24%, respectively, from the day before (also a rebroadcast); +2% and +10%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday’s Late Night.
Following The Late Show, CBS’ After Midnight July 23 episode averaged 617,000 total viewers with 101,000 P18-49 at 12:35 a.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +1% and -16%, respectively, from the day before; +13% and +16%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday’s episode. Anna Faris, Melissa Villaseñor, and Andy Richter all appeared on the Tuesday, July 23 installment of After Midnight.
Following Kimmel, ABC News’ Nightline averaged 612,000 total viewers with only 62,000 P18-49 at 12:35 a.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -6% and -24%, respectively, from the day before; +9% and -9%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday.
