Late Night Ratings: Monday, July 22, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night daily ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen. 

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert dominated the Monday late night landscape once again, taking first place at 11:35 p.m. both in total viewers and among Adults 18-49.

The Late Show averaged 2,093,000 total viewers with 227,000 P18-49 at 11:35 p.m. this past Monday July 22, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +6% in total viewers and +12% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday episode (July 15). Keanu Reeves was Stephen Colbert’s guest, and Charles Wesley Godwin performed on the program this past Monday.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon came in second place at 11:35 p.m., having averaged 1,109,000 total viewers with 173,000 P18-49 at 11:35 p.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -4% in total viewers, and -14% improvement in P18-49 demo viewers from the Monday before. Ryan Reynolds, and Tony Hale were Fallon’s guests this past Monday. Jimin performed on the program.

Lamorne Morris guest-hosted ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! this past Monday, and the episode averaged 1,016,000 total viewers with 167,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -17% but +15%, respectively, from the previous Monday (when Anthony Anderson served as Kimmel guest host). Sebastian Maniscalco, and Gillian Jacobs were Morris’ guests this past Monday. Big Sean performed a free outdoor mini-concert for the program.

Following The Tonight Show, NBC aired a repeat of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ June 20, 2024 episode, and the telecast averaged 582,000 total viewers with 94,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -23% and -29%, respectively, from the Monday before ( featuring a first-run episode).

Following The Late Show, CBS’ After Midnight averaged 611,000 total viewers with 120,000 P18-49 at 12:35 a.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +14% and +38%, respectively, from the Monday before. Joe Mantegna, Zach Gilford, and Laci Mosley all appeared on After Midnight‘s July 22 episode.

Following Kimmel, ABC News’ Nightline averaged 653,000 total viewers with 82,000 P18-49 at 12:35 a.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -10% and -13%, respectively, from the Monday prior.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show did not air on Monday, July 22.
