Late Night Ratings: Tuesday, July 2, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night daily ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen. 

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon gained viewers, and took first place in the ratings race on a repeat-filled Tuesday, July 2.

NBC presented a rebroadcast of Tonight Show‘s June 17, 2024 episode, and it averaged 1,365,000 total viewers with 194,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s up +33% in total viewers, and +45% among P18-49 from the day before (July 1); +6% and +4%, respectively, when compared against the week-ago, June 25 telecast (also a rebroadcast).

Elsewhere, CBS presented a rebroadcast of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s May 15, 2024 episode at 11:35 p.m., and the telecast averaged 1,215,000 total viewers with 138,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -6% in total viewers, but +12% among P18-49 from the day before; -15% and -18% respectively, from the week-ago telecast (also a rebroadcast).

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (similar to The Tonight Show) presented a rebroadcast of its June 17 episode this past Tuesday at 11:35 p.m. However, ABC did not submit 11:35 p.m. viewing data to Nielsen, the second consecutive day it declined to do so.

Following The Tonight Show, NBC presented a rebroadcast of the June 10, 2024 edition of Late Night with Seth Meyers, which averaged 726,000 total viewers with 99,000 P18-49 on Tuesday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. Late Night gained +40% in total viewers, and +52% in P18-49 viewers from the day before; but shed -2% and -7%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday’s telecast (also a rebroadcast).

Following The Late Show, CBS presented a rebroadcast of After Midnight‘s April 24, 2024 episode. The telecast averaged 503,000 total viewers with 101,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That represents a +2% gain in total viewers, and +22% gain in P18-49 viewers from the previous day; -12% and -9%, respectively, from the Tuesday telecast (also a rebroadcast).

Following Kimmel, ABC aired a new episode of Nightline, which averaged 608,000 total viewers with 88,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -10% in total viewers, and -3% in P18-49 viewers from the previous day’s rebroadcast; -28% and -15%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday’s rebroadcast.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show did not air on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.
