Late Night Ratings: Thursday, April 11, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night daily ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

The Nielsen live-plus-same-day data for Thursday, April 11 is in, and there’s a first place split. NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon averaged the most P18-49 viewers, while ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged the largest total audience on Thursday at 11:35 p.m.

The Tonight Show averaged 227,000 P18-49 viewers this past Thursday, which is up +18% from the day before, and +8% from the previous Thursday. The show’s 1,473,000 total viewers average is up +19% from the day before, and +16% from the previous Thursday episode. A solid night.

The upcoming SNL host Ryan Gosling, Johnny Knoxville were Fallon’s guests on Thursday. Girl in Red  performed.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! averaged the most total viewers (1,625,000) and second-most P18-49 viewers (199,000) this past Thursday at 11:35 p.m. That’s up +11% and +18%, respectively, from the day before, +7% but -1%, respectively, from the previous Thursday.

 Tom Hiddleston, Joey King were guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Phosphorescent performed.

Due to late Masters Tournament coverage, CBS’ The Late Show took Thursday off and aired a repeat of its March 13 episode, beginning at 11:50 p.m. ET. The telecast averaged just 1,096,000 total viewers and 113,000 P18-49 viewers on Thursday. That represents a -37% in total viewers and -47% in P18-49 viewers from the the day before (Wednesday, April 10, 2024) , -49% in total viewers and -50% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Thursday episode (April 4, 2024), the latter of which received a boost from NCAA March Madness.

Hitting fast-forward, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged the most total viewers and P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. , 891,000 and 143,000, respectively. Late Night gained +18% in total viewers and a solid +39% in P18-49 viewers from the day before, +2% and +8%, respectively, from the previous Thursday episode.

Liev Schreiber, Busy Phillipps were Meyers’ Late Night guests this past Thursday.

ABC News’ half-hour offering Nightline aired an original episode this past Thursday, which averaged 849,000 total viewers and 125,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That represents a +19% increase in total viewers and +11% increase in P18-49 viewers from the day before, +2% but -23% in those respective measurements versus the previous Thursday.

In light of The Late Show being pushed back 15 minutes on Thursday, CBS’ After Midnight started at 12:52 a.m. ET. The new episode averaged 533,000 total viewers and 84,000 P18-49 viewers. That’s -1% and -18%, respectively from the day before, -31% and -39%, respectively, from the Thursday prior.

Diona Reasonover, Doug Benson, Echo Kellum appeared on Thursday’s After Midnight.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show was hosted by Michael Kosta on Tuesday through Thursday last week. His Thursday, April 11 episode averaged 394,000 total viewers and 89,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -3% in total viewers, and -27% in P18-49 viewers from the previous day’s episode, -1% in total viewers but +6% in P18-49 viewers from TDS’ most-recent Thursday episode, hosted by fellow correspondent Desi Lydic.

Poet, essayist, and cultural critic Hanif Abdurraqib was Kosta’s guest on Thursday’s Daily Show.
