What happens when two beloved Star Wars rebels cross over to the Dark Side… of Hollywood Boulevard?
On Tuesday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, guest host Diego Luna brought along his Andor co-star Alan Tudyk for an undercover mission that would’ve made Cassian Andor raise an eyebrow. Ditching their Rebel Alliance credentials, the duo suited up as Stormtroopers and joined the Hollywood costumed character grind.
“I just realized Jimmy doesn’t pay for guest hosts,” Luna joked before heading outside. “So I’m going to go make some money.”
Outfitted in bulky white armor, the pair wandered the Walk of Fame, offering photo ops, haggling over tips, and doing their best to stay in character. “These are not the roids we’re looking for,” Tudyk quipped, eyeing a group of overly jacked tourists. They offered selfies for cash (“$10… $5… a mint?”), tried to pawn off “Wookiee cookies,” and even asked a stranger to babysit a Stormtrooper while they went off to “pee.”
The performance hit peak absurdity when the two crossed paths with a low-budget Darth Vader—who they dubbed “Darth Ozempic.”.
By the end of their shift, their financial haul was less than stellar. “We made $7 and one mint,” Luna announced proudly.
Still, not bad for a couple of rebels-turned-rent-a-troopers just trying to survive the Kimmel economy.
As we’ve reported, Luna is Jimmy Kimmel’s first guest host of the summer. The Mexican-born actor began his week-long hosting stint on a far more serious note Monday night, delivering an impassioned eight-and-a-half-minute monologue condemning Donald Trump’s immigration policies and speaking directly to immigrant communities in Los Angeles.
