Kenan Thompson Sets Book Signing at The Shop at NBC Studios

Kenan Thompson will take a break from prepping a new SNL this week to head eight floors down and meet fans.

Thompson will be holding a book signing at The Shop at NBC Studios, located in NBC’s New York City headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, this Thursday. The Saturday Night Live star released his memoir, When I Was Your Age: Life Lessons, Funny Stories & Questionable Parenting Advice from a Professional Clown, last December.

“Though the author has generally been reticent about discussing his personal life publicly over the years, he’s straightforward about many topics here,” Kirkus Reviews wrote of the book. The memoir finds Thompson recounting stories about his career from All That to SNL, the development of his family-friendly comedic persona, and his experiences as a “girl dad.”

The comedian, who earlier this year celebrated 30 years on television, joined SNL in 2003 and has become the longest-running cast member in the show’s half-century history. Saturday’s Season 50 premiere marked the beginning of Thompson’s 22nd season on SNL. The former child star has become one of SNL‘s most reliable players, with comedian Kevin Hart calling him a shoo-in for the as-of-yet nonexistent SNL Hall of Fame.

Thompson previously visited The Shop to sign copies of his book back in March. NBC alums will often pay the store a visit to promote their books. Last month, Jimmy Fallon held a signing for his new children’s book, 5 More Sleeps ‘Til Halloween.

The Thompson signing will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. ET this Thursday, October 3. Admission is free with the in-person purchase of When I Was Your Age from The Shop at NBC Studios.

While there, fans might want to pick up one of SNL’s new limited-edition Season 50 concert tees, or perhaps drop by Fallon’s haunted attraction “Tonightmares,” which is located on 30 Rock’s ice rink level.
