Jimmy Fallon’s latest venture promises to “scare the hell out of you.”
Fallon announced on Thursday’s Tonight Show that he’s staging a haunted maze at 30 Rock.
Designed by the team behind Universal Studios theme parks’ Halloween Horror Nights, Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares will feature 10 rooms, each based on some of his “deepest, darkest nightmares.”
Those fears include werewolves, aliens, brain-eating zombies, murderous AI robots, an abandoned gas station, and a cornfield crawling with homicidal scarecrows.
“Tonightmares has got everything you need to get supremely frightened this Halloween,” Fallon noted in a statement.
He promises a terrifying experience at Tonightmares, and the event’s website notes it “may be too intense for young children,” recommending that attendees be aged 14 or older.
But Jimmy has Halloween content for younger crowds, too—most notably, a new children’s book: 5 More Sleeps ‘til Halloween. The book, which is due out September 3, is a follow-up to Fallon’s 2020 Christmas book 5 More Sleeps ‘til Christmas.
The experience will be staged right at New York’s Rockefeller Plaza, which is home to The Tonight Show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal is expanding its horror experience offerings after the success of its Halloween Horror Nights. That includes the development of a permanent horror attraction in Las Vegas.
Jimmy Fallon’s Tonightmares will run select nights from September 20 through October 31, 2024. Tickets go on sale August 22, but those who add their name to the waitlist will get exclusive access to pre-sale tickets before tickets go on sale to the general public.
