Conan O’Brien is taking his signature brand of travel comedy to the Philippines.
The former late-night host has arrived in Manila to film a new installment of his Emmy-winning Max series Conan O’Brien Must Go, the globe-trotting offshoot of his hit podcast franchise.
O’Brien shared an Instagram post from Bonifacio High Street in the city’s Bonifacio Global City district, where he was greeted by throngs of fans. Joining him on location are longtime Team Coco collaborators José Arroyo—known to fans as O’Brien’s “unlicensed doctor”—Jason Chillemi, Mike Sweeney, and supervising producer Aaron Bleyaert.
“Mabuhay, Philippines! Just landed in Manila to shoot #ConanOBrienMustGo and I’ve already met so many amazing people,” O’Brien wrote, referencing the Filipino greeting meaning “long live.”
Episodes of Must Go follow O’Brien as he surprises fans he’s previously met through his Conan O’Brien Needs a Fan podcast — a spinoff of his flagship Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend. The Philippines installment is a natural next step, as O’Brien has chatted on-air with multiple Filipino listeners, including an aspiring action star and a healer and soccer player who spoke about the trans and autistic communities in Manila.
The first two seasons of O’Briens HBO Max travel series saw him travel to Norway, Argentina, Thailand, Ireland, Spain, New Zealand, and Austria. The series scored an early third-season renewal in March—months before the release of its shortened sophomore run. Since premiering in 2024, the show has earned four Emmy nominations and two wins, including Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special at last month’s ceremony.
HBO Max has yet to announce an episode count or premiere date for the upcoming season.
