The two-time Oscar winner will sit down for a one-on-one interview on Maher’s post-election episode. It will mark Douglas’ first appearance on Real Time. (His father, Kirk Douglas, guested in 2012.)
The former Fox News star has guested on Maher’s HBO show twice before. Also set to appear this week are Colorado Gov Jared Polis and CNN contributor Van Jones.
The former president called the HBO host “obnoxious and disgusting” after Maher reiterated on Real Time that he believes Trump is “definitely going to lose.”
HBO’s Real Time host and his guests last night apparently got under the former president’s skin. In an early morning Truth Social post, Trump accused Maher of suffering from “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME” (emphasis his), writing “he is a befuddled mess, sloppy and tired, and every conversation, with B and C list guests, seems to start with, or revert back to, ME!” [via The Hill]
No stranger to late night, the former senator will make his sixth appearance on Maher’s HBO series this Friday–his first since 2020.
The former house speaker, who’s promoting her new book, will no doubt be asked about newly released Jan 6 videos in which she blames herself and Capitol Police for not being better prepared.
