No New Real Time With Bill Maher This Week

Viewers tuning into this week’s Real Time with Bill Maher to see what the late night comic has to say about his White House visit with Donald Trump are in for a disappointment. The show is on break this week and will not be airing a new episode Fear not, though. Maher is promising “all will be revealed” about his dinner with Trump when Real Time returns next Friday, April 11.

In lieu of a new episode this week, HBO is running a repeat of last week’s Real Time with guests Gavin Newsom, John McWhorter, Rikki Schlott.

CNN, which typically airs a day-after replay of Maher’s Friday night HBO show,  is replacing the show’s Saturday night broadcast this week with a new hour of CNN Newsroom at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Have I Got News For You will follow at 9pm ET/6pm PT. (The cable news channel is airing a special presentation of its three-hour Kobe Bryant docuseries starting at 10pm ET/7pm PT, pushing back its usual Midnight ET/9pm PT replay of HIGNFY by an hour.)

Though neither Maher nor Trump have yet to publicly comment on their rapprochement earlier this week, the man who brought them together—Kid Rock (only in America, kids)—reported that the “weirdly awesome” experience “went so well.”

“The President even asked him about policy, like what he thought with Iran getting nuclear weapons, and how Israel should react. Bill’s a big supporter of Israel,” the singer told Fox Business’ Stuart Varney. 

Separately, Fox news personality Greg Gutfeld reported that Maher brought along with him a list of insults that the president had called him over the years, which Trump apparently signed for him.

In interviews, Kid Rock has explained that he intended for the meeting to be a chance for both sides to “break bread” and set an example for people across the aisle to “try to be a little nicer to each other.”
