Now that’s an anniversary party.
NBC just released a preview clip from tonight’s 10th anniversary episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers.
The minute-long clip sees Meyers reunited with his show’s first-ever guest, Amy Poehler. He mentions that that the other guest on his inaugural episode went on to be president, and that they asked him to come back for the anniversary, but that he was “unavailable.”
“Oh, you couldn’t get him?’ Poehler responds. “I could get him. Mr President?” And out walks President Joe Biden.
Of course, readers of this site know that Biden’s appearance wasn’t quite the surprise it’s portrayed to be in the clip. Word first leaked of his visit last Friday, and White House officials confirmed it earlier today.
Meanwhile, C-SPAN cameras captured the President and Meyers grabbing ice cream cones this afternoon at Van Leeuwen Ice Cream on the first floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Their orders? Mint chocolate chip for the President, and honeycomb for Meyers. Both on sugar cones.
