Tix Are Still Available for The Daily Show’s DNC Shows in Chicago

Good news for The Daily Show fans in or around Chicago: the Comedy Central series is still accepting ticket requests for this month’s “Indecision 2024” broadcasts from the Windy City.

The four days of shows coincide with the dates of the Democratic National Convention: Monday, August 19 through Thursday, August 22. Jon Stewart is scheduled to trade his usual Monday night hosting slot for Thursday, where he’ll host a live show following the end of the DNC.

This was supposed to be the second time The Daily Show took “The Best F*cking News Team on Television” on the road this summer, with the first trip planned for Milwaukee and the Republican National Convention in July.

In the wake of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, however, The Daily Show was forced to cancel its on-location plans at the late minute due to heightened security and an enlarged security perimeter. The event’s “hard perimeter” included the Marcus Performing Arts Center, the theater from which the show planned to broadcast.

While The Daily Show has made a tradition of visiting the conventions during election years, the DNC events will mark the show’s first time onsite since 2016. In 2020, the late-night shows were broadcasting remotely amid the COVID pandemic and the conventions themselves were scaled down, forcing The Daily Social Distancing Show with Trevor Noah to cover events from afar.

Tickets for The Daily Show’s Chicago tapings are available to request at this link now, via the show’s ticketing partner 1iota. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday’s shows have a start time of 4 p.m. CT while Thursday’s show will begin at 9 p.m. CT. The shows will be taped at Chicago’s Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture.

The Daily Show won’t be the only late-night show broadcasting from the DNC. Earlier this spring, Stephen Colbert announced that he would be taking The Late Show on the road, too, with plans to broadcast a week of shows from Chicago. As of this time, waitlist-only requests are being accepted for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. You can sign up here.
