The “Best F**king News Team” is pulling out all the stops this election season.
We already knew The Daily Show would be going live on election night (November 5), in keeping with long-standing tradition. But now fans have even more reason to be excited about the show’s coverage: The live special will be an hour-long—twice the length of a normal episode.
Fittingly, Jon Stewart will host the very special episode. Correspondents/co-hosts Ronny Chieng, Jordan Klepper, Michael Kosta, and Desi Lydic will be right by his side to provide updates, commentary, and “tips on surviving the post-election breakdown of society,” according to a Comedy Central press release.
As an added bonus, the special’s just-unveiled title is extra long as well: The Daily Show Presents a Live Election Night Special With Jon Stewart: Indecision 2024: Nothing We Can Do About It Now (try saying that five times as fast as you can).
The Daily Show has been airing live election night specials since the 2000 presidential election (which, of course, didn’t see the results until a month later). Unless either candidate has a landslide victory this year, it’s very possible that we won’t learn the results Tuesday night.
As of right now, it looks like The Daily Show team will have the big night all to themselves. While The Late Show With Stephen Colbert previously went live for election night in both 2016 and 2020, it reportedly has no plans to do the same this time around.
The Daily Show’s election night special will air on Tuesday, November 5 at 11 p.m. ET. In addition to Comedy Central, it will be simulcast on MTV, Paramount Network, TV Land, CMT, Pop, and Logo. It will also be available to stream on Paramount+ and VOD the following day.
