Shout! Studios Parent Signs Pact for Conan O’Brien’s 1,500-Episode TBS Run

Conan is set to find new life on demand.

U.S. distribution rights for Conan O’Brien’s TBS series have been acquired by Radial Entertainment, the new company that houses Shout! Studios.

The company was formed in July when owner Oaktree Capital Management acquired media company FilmRise.

With the new pact, Radial secures exclusive on-demand rights in the United States to Conan for SVOD, TVOD, CVOD, AVOD, EST, and diginets. The deal spans the show’s 11-season run—a catalog of over 1,500 episodes.

O’Brien launched Conan, his third late-night series, in 2010 following his departure from NBC, where he spent over 16 years as host of Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. He continued the show until he retired from late-night TV in 2021.

The deal brings Conan into the same corporate portfolio that holds distribution rights to select episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 2020, Shout! TV brought Carson’s show to streaming for the first time as The Johnny Carson Show, most recently acquiring a new batch of 50 episodes in June.

O’Brien already brought his Conan output in clip form YouTube and FAST channels with the launch of Conan O’Brien TV on Samsung TV Plus in 2023.

News of Radial’s acquisition came at this year’s MIPCOM in Cannes.

“Conan O’Brien is widely regarded as one of the most original and enduring figures in American comedy,” said Jeff Peisch, SVP of Programming & New Business Development at Radial. “His influence has shaped modern comedy, and his work continues to resonate with audiences across generations. We are excited to continue his extraordinary late-night legacy by allowing fans to watch his decade-long series on streaming platforms.”

    Meh.

Don’t really care. I’d be more interested in his Late Night episodes.

What about Letterman’s Late Night episodes? I can’t believe in 2025, with all of the media available, we still have no way of seeing Letterman’s best work.

I think I read a couple months back that Dave’s Late Night episode are going on Samsung TV or something.

        No, not really.

Letterman has a FAST channel on Samsung TV that has clips. I have a Samsung tablet so I have it.

There are maybe 5 episodes of Late Night available. It’s not as if they’re making all episodes available. The channel, which is horribly organized and difficult to browse, is basically clips and shit like their YouTube channel.

If Jed Rosenzweig is saying “yep” that Letterman’s Late Night episodes are going to be available , that’s not true.
