Late night is entering its last full week before August with one foot on the gas and the other already out the door. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is dark for the next two weeks, The Daily Show is squeezing in one last week of originals before taking a month off, and Seth Meyers is set to start an extended break of his own next week. On the plus side: Bill Maher is back from vacation, John Oliver has a new show on deck, and Fallon remains firmly in originals.
Here’s who’s on and off the week of July 27, 2026:
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Gone. Jimmy Kimmel remains on his annual summer vacation, and now his staff is getting some time off, too. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is dark for the next two weeks, with new guest-hosted episodes scheduled to resume August 10.
Anthony Anderson is set to kick off the show’s final three weeks of summer guest hosts, followed by Rosie O’Donnell the week of August 17 and Jelly Roll the week after that. Kimmel himself is expected to return Tuesday, September 8.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
On. Jimmy Fallon is new this week and is expected to remain in originals through most of August. The Tonight Show welcomes Jim Gaffigan, Karlie Kloss, and Bebe Rexha on Monday, followed by Keke Palmer, Jacob Batalon, and Lady Miss Jacqueline on Tuesday. Sadie Sink, Fabien Frankel, and Shaboozey visit Wednesday, with Zoe Saldaña, Drew Starkey, and Feid closing out the week Thursday.
Comics Unleashed
Gone. Both nightly installments of Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen airing in CBS’ late-night block are repeats this week. The show’s 11:35 p.m. anchor slot will feature encore episodes from April, while its 12:05 a.m. half hour will draw from the show’s third season.
Funny You Should Ask
Gone. The second hour of Byron Allen’s CBS late-night block also remains in repeat mode. Funny You Should Ask has been airing repeats in both of its half hours since assuming CBS’ 12:35 a.m. slot in late May.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
On, for now. Seth Meyers sets off on an extended summer vacation of his own late this week, but first comes a week of originals. Late Night welcomes Common and Brittany Broski on Monday, followed by Tom Holland, Stavros Halkias, and Dan Mintz on Tuesday. Carey Mulligan and Mary Beth Barone visit Wednesday, with Timothy Olyphant and Cooper Hoffman closing things out Thursday.
Nightline
On. ABC’s late-night newsmagazine is scheduled to continue airing new episodes this week.
The Daily Show
On, for one more week. The Daily Show is slated to continue with new episodes this week on Comedy Central. After that, the show is expected to take the month of August off.
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
On. Andy Cohen is keeping the Bravo clubhouse open this week, with new editions of Watch What Happens Live scheduled Monday through Thursday. Marcello Hernández and Kevin Hart lead off the week Monday, followed by part 2 of Cohen’s In the City reunion Tuesday. Trinity Tatum and Bryce Alakai visit Wednesday, with Shannon Storms Beador and Harvey Guillén closing out the week Thursday.
Gutfeld!
On. As with most cable news shows, Greg Gutfeld’s Gutfeld! typically continues with new episodes throughout the summer, using guest hosts when needed.
Real Time with Bill Maher
On. Bill Maher returns from a three-week summer break this Friday, July 31, with a new episode of Real Time.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
On. John Oliver, who returned from his own vacation last night, is back with another new episode of Last Week Tonight Sunday night.
Saturday Night Live
Gone. No change here: Saturday Night Live remains on summer hiatus after closing out Season 51 in May. This weekend’s repeat, however, has a fresh awards-season hook: Connor Storrie’s February episode with Mumford & Sons earned Storrie an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. He is the only SNL host nominated for his work on the show this past season.
