Late night is looking slightly more crowded this week—but summer rules still apply. Most of the major nightly shows are back with originals, Last Week Tonight returns from its July break, and Colman Domingo takes over Jimmy Kimmel Live! as Kimmel’s latest summer guest host.
Here’s who’s on and off the week of July 20, 2026:
Jimmy Kimmel Live!
On, with guest host Colman Domingo. Jimmy Kimmel remains on his annual summer vacation, with Colman Domingo taking over as Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s latest summer guest host. Domingo kicks off his week Monday with Jacob Elordi and Jaafar Jackson, followed by Marlon Wayans and Diarra Kilpatrick on Tuesday, Arsenio Hall and Patrick Ball on Wednesday, and Niecy Nash-Betts and Kerri Kenney-Silver on Thursday. Soul singer Frank McComb is scheduled to sit in with The Cletones throughout the week.
After that, Jimmy Kimmel Live! is scheduled to go dark for two weeks before returning with more guest-hosted episodes in August.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
On. Jimmy Fallon isback with a second week of Odyssey-heavy shows. The Tonight Show welcomes Kevin Hart, DJ Khaled, and Buju Banton on Monday, followed by rapper, producer and Odyssey actor Travis Scott, Drew Brees, and a performance from Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular on Tuesday. Emmy winner John Leguizamo (who also appears in The Odyssey) and Shania Twain visit Wednesday, with Christopher Nolan, Ben Rice, and Pete Lee closing out the week Thursday. Friday’s episode is a repeat of the July 15 show featuring Zendaya, Chrissy Metz, and Phoebe Bridgers.
Comics Unleashed
Gone. Both nightly installments of Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen airing in CBS’ late-night block are repeats this week. Among the comics turning up in the encore installments are Jackie Fabulous, Matt O’Brien, Erik Griffin, Mike Feeney, Shane Torres, Ashley Ray, Louis Ramey, Martin Morrow, and Drew Dunn.
Funny You Should Ask
Gone. The second hour of Byron Allen’s CBS late-night block also remains in repeats, with Funny You Should Ask continuing to air episodes that have previously run in syndication.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
On. Seth Meyers is back with four new episodes of Late Night. SNL’s Marcello Hernández and Minka Kelly visit Monday, followed by Leslie Jones and Jo Firestone on Tuesday, Tracee Ellis Ross on Wednesday, and Rosie O’Donnell and James Norton on Thursday. Friday’s show is a repeat of the July 13 episode featuring Anne Hathaway and Alan Ritchson.
Nightline
On. ABC’s late-night newsmagazine is scheduled to continue airing new episodes this week.
The Daily Show
On. The Daily Show is slated to continue with new episodes this week on Comedy Central.
Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
On. Andy Cohen is keeping the Bravo clubhouse open this week, with new editions of Watch What Happens Live scheduled through Thursday. The week’s lineup includes an In the City reunion Tuesday, Ariana Biermann and Kristen Doute on Wednesday, and Octavia Spencer and Heather Dubrow on Thursday.
Gutfeld!
On. As with most cable news shows, Greg Gutfeld’s Gutfeld! typically continues with new episodes throughout the summer, using guest hosts when needed.
Real Time with Bill Maher
Gone. Bill Maher remains on summer break this week, with Real Time scheduled to return with new episodes next Friday, July 31.
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver
On. John Oliver is back from his summer break this weekend, with Last Week Tonight scheduled to return with a new episode Sunday, July 26.
Saturday Night Live
Gone. No change here: Saturday Night Live remains on summer hiatus after closing out Season 51 in May. The show is expected to kick off Season 52 on September 26, 2026.
