Studio 8G is going dark for three weeks as Late Night with Seth Meyers takes an extended spring break starting Monday, March 30.
Meyers is one of several late-night hosts taking time off over the next few weeks. Stephen Colbert was off this past week, Jimmy Kimmel will be off the week of March 30, and Meyers’ NBC lead-in, Jimmy Fallon, will be taking two weeks off himself starting April 7.
Late Night with Seth Meyers is set to return with new episodes Monday, April 20.
While he won’t be producing new episodes of Late Night, Meyers likely won’t be lounging on the beach, as he’s got a full plate of extracurriculars.
In addition to regularly performing stand-up (he’s got dates scheduled in Missouri and New York during the show’s hiatus weeks), he hosts a podcast with his brother Josh called Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers and another podcast with The Lonely Island called The Lonely Island & Seth Meyers Podcast.
Meyers also co-created the Emmy-nominated IFC series Documentary Now, and wrote the 2022 children’s book “I’m Not Scared, You’re Scared,” which debuted at No. 3 on the New York Times Best Sellers list. His production company, Sethmaker Shoemeyers, has also been behind several films, including Good One: A Show About Jokes, a documentary following comedian Mike Birbiglia on the road as he builds a new comedy set, and Brian, a new feature film penned by Late Night writer Mike Scollins, which recently premiered at South by Southwest to rave reviews.
Meyers’ most recent contract extension with NBC will see him sitting behind the Late Night desk through at least 2028.
I’m guessing you meant “Meyers” in the sixth paragraph referencing “Documentary Now!”
Yikes.Yes, thank you for this, Eric. If I were Seth, I’d have a clever retort.
Yikes. Late night is circling the drain. I don’t see it lasting beyond 2028. Nobody watches this shit but 70+. I only watched Conan and Leno until 2006 because I had 6 channels. But now I have zero channels and would never watch this unfunny garbage because we have smartphones now.
Have you made a will yet boomer?
Because we don’t! Get a life!
He has a point. Yet, these shows still chase after the “Money Demo” of 18-49.
They’re posting the same ageism bullshit on other pages here!
Seth Meyers is taking a Three-Week Break from NBC’s low rated Late Night show for his vaginoplasty, electrolysis and estrogen therapy.
Sounds like Trump lol
As Seth would have said on “Corrections”, “see me in four weeks”.
Viewers in Chicago should see if the items on Seth’s desk make another appearance in the Museum of Broadcast Communications’ “Evolution of Late Night” exhibit. I saw them there while the show was on holiday hiatus last December. It was so cool to see them up close.
Seth,
You know we all will miss you very much. Have a great time and see you April 20, 2026
Best wishes
I see a cancellation coming
How can a show grow an audience, let alone, retain viewers if they are CONSTANLY off for long periods of time?
Go for it! 👏👏
