Seth Meyers and his producing partner Mike Shoemaker are behind a new comedy documentary coming to Peacock later this month.
Good One: A Show About Jokes follows comedian Mike Birbiglia on the road as he builds a new comedy set. Birbiglia is known for his unique brand of personal comedy, and the new special promises to peel back the curtain on his process, mixing comedy with revelations from his family and friends, including fellow comics Hasan Minhaj and Atsuko Okatsuka.
In addition to executive producing, Meyers also appears in the doc, which is adapted from the Vulture comedy podcast of the same name hosted by Jesse David Fox.
Fox is also an executive producer for the special, which was alluded to when he appeared Late Night in December to promote his new book “Comedy Book.”
The doc is the latest in a growing list of extracurriculars for Meyers.
Documentary Now, the Emmy nominated IFC series he created alongside fellow SNL alums Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, has aired four seasons to date, while his 2022 childrens book “I’m Not Scared, You’re Scared” debuted at No. 3 on the New York Times best sellers list.
Most recently, he and his brother Josh have been cohosting a podcast called Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers.
Good One: A Show About Jokes is set to premiere on Peacock March 26, 2024.
