ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split first place ratings honors for the week of June 24, 2024.
Kimmel (with guest host Martin Short) averaged a 11:35 p.m. timeslot-high 1,622,000 total viewers along with 238,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s +1% and +14%, respectively, from the week prior (beginning June 17). Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s week of June 24 averages are based on five telecasts, four of which were new episodes. The other late-night talk shows were dark and presented rebroadcasts throughout the week.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon finished the week first among P18-49, but second in total viewers in the 11:35 p.m. timeslot. Per Nielsen live-plus-three data, The Tonight Show averaged 1,347,000 total viewers with 243,000 P18-49 demo viewers. That’s -0.4% in total viewers but +15% in P18-49 from the week before. CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took a rare third place finish, both in total viewers and among P18-49. The program averaged 1,320,000 total viewers with 195,000 demo viewers for the week of June 24, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s -40% and -14%, respectively, from the week before. The Late Show’s week of June 24 averages are based off of five rebroadcasts.
Following Kimmel, ABC News’ Nightline averaged 876,000 total viewers with 140,000 P18-49 for the week of June 24, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s +6% and +15%, respectively, from the week before. Nightline‘s averages for the week are based off four first-run episodes (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday).
Following Fallon, NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 753,000 total viewers with 143,000 P18-49 for the week of June 24, per Nielsen live-plus-three-day data. That’s -17% and -7%, respectively, from the week before. Late Night‘s averages for this past week are based off five rebroadcasts.
Following Colbert, CBS’ After Midnight averaged just 545,000 total viewers with 113,000 P18-49 for the week of June 24, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That represents a -16% decline in total viewers and a -12% decline in P18-49 from the week prior. After Midnight‘s week of June 24 averages are based off five rebroadcasts.
Lastly, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show averaged 960,000 total viewers with 191,000 P18-49 for the week of June 24, per Nielsen live-plus-three data. That’s -4% and +6%, respectively, from the week prior. This past week’s Daily Show averages are based off four first-run episodes, including Jon Stewart hosting a live post-debate Thursday episode, and Michael Kosta guest-hosting Monday.
