
With all of late night still on an extended Memorial Day break this Tuesday, a rebroadcast of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert out-performed the rest.
The Late Show‘s rebroadcast (its May 8, 2024 episode) averaged 1,374,000 total viewers with 178,000 P18-49 viewers on CBS this past Tuesday at 11:35 p.m. That’s +21% and +14%, respectively, from Monday (also a rebroadcast), but -33% and -30%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday (a new episode).
ABC Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s May 6 rebroadcast finished second in the timeslot, averaging 1,170,000 total viewers with 163,000 P18-49 viewers on Tuesday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -0.4% and +4%, respectively, versus Monday’s episode (a rebroadcast), -26% and -26%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday episode (new).
NBC The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon‘s May 1 episode averaged 1,129,000 total viewers with 123,000 P18-49 viewers this past Tuesday at 11:35. That’s +15% and -17%, respectively, versus Monday’s episode (a rebroadcast), -14% and -15%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday episode (new).
Following The Tonight Show, NBC aired a rebroadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ May 7 episode, and the telecast averaged 618,000 total viewers with only 79,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:36 a.m. That’s +2% in total viewers, but -32% in P18-49 viewers versus Monday’s episode (a rebroadcast), -19% and -42%, respectively, from the previous Tuesday’s episode (new).
Following Colbert’s Late Show, CBS aired a rebroadcast of After Midnight‘s March 7 episode, and it averaged 525,000 total viewers with 125,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:36 a.m. That’s +33% in total viewers and +33% in demo viewers versus Monday’s episode (a rebroadcast), but -33% in total viewers and -23% in demo viewers from the previous Tuesday’s episode (another rebroadcast).
Unlike its timeslot counterparts, ABC’s Nightline aired a new episode this past Tuesday, which averaged 633,000 total viewers with 97,000 P18-49 viewers. That represents a -2% decline in total viewers, but a +17% gain in P18-49 viewers from Monday’s episode (a rebroadcast). The show shed -33% in total viewers and -28% in P18-49 versus the previous Tuesday episode (new).
