CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon split first place in the late-night ratings race for Thursday, June 20, 2024.

The Late Show averaged a timeslot-high 1,714,000 total viewers along with 193,000 P18-49 this past Thursday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -1% and -1%, respectively, from the day before (Juneteenth); -1% and -10%, respectively, from the previous Thursday episode (June 13) . Jeremy Allen White, and Ava DuVernay were Late Show guests on Thursday, June 20.

The Tonight Show averaged 1,214,000 total viewers with a timeslot-high 232,000 P18-49 at 11:35 p.m. on Thursday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +13% in total viewers and +51% in P18-49 viewers from the night before; -1% but +60%, respectively, from the show’s Thursday, June 13 averages. Emma Stone, and Eva Longoria were Fallon’s guests June 20 on The Tonight Show. Chappell Roan performed.

Kimmel averaged 1,519,000 total viewers with 142,000 P18-49 on Thursday, June 20, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +3% in total viewers and +34% in P18-49 viewers from the night before. The episode -0.5% and -42%, respectively, from the previous Thursday episode. Zac Efron, and Rep. Jasmine Crockett were Kimmel’s guests on Thursday, June 20. Gracie Abrams performed.

Following Fallon, the Thursday, June 20 edition of NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers averaged 770,000 total viewers with 158,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +13% in total viewers and +28% in P18-49 from the day before; -1% but +65%, respectively, from the prior Thursday. Jesse Plemons, Diane von Furstenberg, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy were Meyers’ guests on Thursday, June 20. Mario Duplantier sat in with the 8G Band.

Following Colbert, After Midnight averaged 539,000 total viewers with 111,000 P18-49 in the 12:35 a.m. hour, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -18% in total viewers and -18% in P18-49 from the day before; +2% and +18%, respectively, from the previous Thursday. Lisa Gilroy, Reid Scott, and Kimia Behpoornia appeared on the Taylor Tomlinson-fronted CBS program.

Following Kimmel, ABC’s Nightline averaged 708,000 total viewers with 81,000 P18-49 in the 12:35 a.m. slot, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -4% in total viewers but +80% in P18-49 from the previous episode. Relative to the prior Thursday, Nightline gained +2% in total viewers but shed -36% in P18-49.

Lastly, The Daily Show co-hosted by Ronny Chieng and Desi Lydic averaged 409,000 total viewers with 81,000 P18-49 this past Thursday, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. The Daily Show did not air the night before. The episode gained +5% in total viewers, but shed -17% in P18-49 from the previous Thursday episode. Ebon Moss-Bachrach was the Thursday, June 20 Daily Show guest.
