CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is off this week, and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! took advantage on Monday.
ABC’s 11:35 p.m. late-night offering averaged 1,799,000 total viewers and 225,000 P18-49 viewers on Monday, March 18, 2024, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s No. 1 at 11:35 p.m. in both measurements, -1% in total viewers but up +4% in P18-49 viewers from the prior Monday’s episode (March 11).
Christina Applegate, Huey Lewis, and The Heart of Rock and Roll were Kimmel’s guests this past Monday, March 18.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon finished second in P18-49 viewers (167,000), but third in total viewers on Monday (1,197,000). That’s up +10% in total viewers but -15% in P18-49 viewers from the prior Monday.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Chris Robinson, and the Black Crowes were Fallon’s guests on the Monday, March 18 edition of Tonight Show.
CBS aired a repeat of the Late Show’s Feb. 28, 2024 episode this past Monday at 11:35 p.m., and it averaged 1,302,000 total viewers (more than NBC) and 149,000 P18-49 (fewer than NBC/ABC).
ABC News’ Nightline aired an original episode this past Monday which averaged 895,000 total viewers and 102,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m. That’s a -12% drop-off in total viewers and a -32% drop-off in P18-49 viewers from the week before, when the show received a larger-than-usual audience bump from Kimmel’s post-Oscars Monday episode.
CBS’ After Midnight and NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers are dark this week and aired repeats of their Jan. 8, 2024 and Jan. 31, 2024 episodes, respectively, this past Monday. After Midnight’s Jan. 31 repeat averaged 603,000 total viewers and 108,000 P18-49 viewers, while the Jan. 8 repeat of Late Night averaged 628,000 total viewers and 86,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m.
The Daily Show is off this week, and Comedy Central is re-airing four of Jon Stewart’s Monday shows at 11 p.m. through Thursday. Monday’s re-air of The Daily Show Feb. 12, 2024 episode (Stewart’s Monday debut) averaged 209,000 total viewers and 43,000 P18-49 viewers at 11 p.m.
