CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert kicked off the week starting March 11 by averaging the most total viewers (1,894,000) and most P18-49 viewers (241,000) in late night, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. The Late Show’s margin of victory in average total viewers was slimmer than normal. The show saw a -14% decline in total viewers and a -7% decline in P18-49 viewers from last Monday’s episode (March 4, 2024). Nevertheless, first place is first place.
Kristen Stewart, and Tom Hollander were Colbert’s guests on Monday’s edition of Late Show.
After a week off, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! returned to its usual 11:35 p.m. perch. Riding high from his Oscars host stint, Kimmel averaged 1,812,000 total viewers on Monday, the show’s largest audience since Feb. 23, and its third-largest total audience of 2024 to-date. JKL also averaged 217,000 P18-49 viewers on Monday, the show’s largest demo audience since Feb. 22, and its 6th-largest demo audience year to-date.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Justin Timberlake were Kimmel’s guests this past Monday, March 11.
NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon came in third at 11:35 p.m., averaging 1,091,000 total viewers and 196,000 P18-49 viewers in the timeslot on March 11. The Tonight Show shed -11% in total viewers and -6% in P18-49 viewers from the prior Monday episode.
Ewan McGregor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Evan Rachel Wood, and Marcus King were Fallon’s guests on the March 11 edition of Tonight Show.
Building off a big night for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, ABC News’ Nightline won the 12:37 a.m. hour, not only in total viewers (1,012,000) but also in P18-49 viewers (149,000). Nightline gained a solid +55% in total viewers and +55% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday broadcast.
NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers took second place at 12:37 a.m., both in total viewers (866,000) and in P18-49 viewers (134,000). That’s up +11% and +18%, respectively, from the previous Monday.
Bowen Yang, Kara Swisher, and Aric Improta were Meyers’ Late Night guests on March 11.
CBS After Midnight hosted by Taylor Tomlinson finished behind ABC and NBC on Monday at 12:37 a.m., both in total viewers (586,000) and P18-49 (114,000). The program shed -16% in total viewers but gained +3% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday.
The Monday, March 11, 2024 installment of After Midnight featured guest appearances from Randy Sklar, Jason Sklar, and Rob Haze.
On March 11, Jon Stewart returned for his fifth Monday as part-time Daily Show host, and the episode averaged 970,000 total viewers with 176,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. Relative to the previous Monday, The Daily Show gained +6% in total viewers but dropped -15% in P18-49 viewers.
Harvard professor Steven Levitsky was Stewart’s guest for the Monday, March 11 Daily Show episode focusing on authoritarianism.
