Late Night Ratings: Monday, June 24, 2024

Note: LateNighter generally posts late night daily ratings on a two (business) day delay, which is how they are released by Nielsen.

NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was the top-ranked late-night show at 11:35 p.m. this past Monday, despite airing a rebroadcast of its May 13, 2024 episode. The telecast averaged 1,417,000 total viewers with 251,000 P18-49 viewers, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s +11% and +16%, respectively, from the week-ago episode (a new one).

CBS presented a rebroadcast of Late Show with Stephen Colbert‘s June 12, 2024 episode this past Monday at 11:35 p.m. The telecast averaged 1,359,000 total viewers with 201,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. That’s -33% in total viewers but +16% among P18-49 from the previous Monday (a new episode).

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! is the only 11:35 p.m. show airing new episodes over the next two weeks. Kimmel kicked off the week beginning June 24 by averaging 1,294,000 total viewers with 241,000 P18-49, according to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. Monday’s Kimmel didn’t begin until 12:26 a.m. ET due to overrun from the NHL Stanley Cup Final Game 7. Unsurprisingly, the episode was down by -19% in total viewers and -29% in P18-49 from the previous Monday’s episode (June 17). The June 17 episode benefited from an NBA Finals lead-in, an event which traditionally draws more viewers than a Stanley Cup Final. The June 17 Kimmel also aired in its usual timeslot.

Martin Short was Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s guest host on Monday, June 24, and was joined by guests Steve Martin (Short’s “Only Murders In the Building” co-star), and Sienna Miller. Imagine Dragons performed.

Following The Tonight Show, NBC aired a rebroadcast of Late Night with Seth Meyers‘ May 14, 2024 episode, which averaged 729,000 total viewers with 137,000 P18-49, per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. Late Night gained +0.3% in total viewers, and +10% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday (a new episode).

Following Colbert’s Late Show, CBS aired a rebroadcast of After Midnight‘s April 11, 2024 episode, which went on to average 565,000 total viewers with 132,000 P18-49 viewers at 12:37 a.m., per Nielsen live-plus-same-day. The June 24 After Midnight gained +6% in total viewers, and +40% in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday’s new episode.

Following Kimmel, ABC aired a new episode of Nightline, which averaged 669,000 total viewers with 138,000 P18-49. The June 24 Nightline didn’t begin until 1:28 a.m., and as a result saw a -27% decline in total viewers and -34% decline in P18-49 viewers from the previous Monday’s episode.

Lastly, The Daily Show was hosted by Michael Kosta on Monday, June 24, and per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, the episode averaged 458,000 total viewers, with only 74,000 P18-49. Relative to the week-ago episode hosted by Stewart (June 10), there’s a -38% loss in total viewers and a -55% loss in P18-49. The 458,000 total viewer average does represent Kosta’s second-largest live-plus-same-day audience as Daily Show host (he has solo-hosted 11 Daily Show episodes in 2024 to-date, including Tuesday, June 25). Paul W. Downs, who is the co-creator and co-showrunner of the Max comedy series Hacks. (He also co-stars on the show, playing showbiz manager Jimmy Lusaque Jr.), joined Kosta on Monday’s Daily Show.
