Seth Meyers has lined up his latest drinking buddy.
Late Night with Seth Meyers’ signature “Day Drinking” segment will be back for another installment tomorrow, June 11th—and this time he’ll be clinking glasses with Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
In a first look released by NBC, the Seinfeld and Veep star can be seen laughing as Meyers leans over the bar to tell her something. ( “Daniwah,” perhaps?)
In addition to her appearance in the pre-taped segment, Louis-Dreyfus will also appear in-studio as a guest on Late Night tonight, June 10th.
“Day Drinking” has become a standout segment on Meyers’ Late Night, with the majority of previous editions garnering millions of views on YouTube. His most recent outing, with Kristen Stewart, has amassed more than 1.6 million views since it was posted in late March. Meyers’ “Day Drinking” segment with Rihanna, from June 2019, currently has more than 22 million views.
The recurring segment first appeared in 2015, barely a year into Meyers’ tenure on Late Night. However, Meyers has noted that the segment isn’t one he can repeat often, because all the drinking depicted is real. He has explained that celeb guests now commonly request to appear in a “Day Drinking” segment—but given the toll it takes on Meyers, the show tends to be selective about extending too many invites.
Louis-Dreyfus has been making the press rounds promoting her new film Tuesday, as well as her Webby Award-winning podcast, Wiser Than Me.
Meyers’ “Day Drinking” segment with Louis-Dreyfus will air on Late Night with Seth Meyers tomorrow night at 12:35 a.m. ET/PT on NBC.
