Jimmy Kimmel Holds His Own Surprise Inspection in New Behind-the-Scenes Clip

Surprise Inspection is Seth Meyers’ bit, but new behind-the-scenes video shows Jimmy Kimmel taking the concept to a whole new level.

Though Jimmy Kimmel Live! was on vacation this week, the show’s social channels were still posting content, including an unaired clip of Kimmel using the downtime of a recent commercial break to give his Guillermo Rodriguez’s injured foot a rare close-up.

Since hurting his foot on the basketball court a couple of weeks ago, Rodriguez has been wheelchair-bound, sporting a cast that exposes his toes.

“How long have you been on this show?” Kimmel asks him in the clip. “Like twenty years, right? We’ve never seen your toes before.”

Wheeling Rodriguez closer to the camera, Kimmel was quick to give a review of his appendages: “Not great. Not great.” Even so, the host made sure Rodriguez’s foot got the best close-up possible. “I want to give those perverts who love feet a real thrill,” he says.

While the moment was unplanned, Rodriguez revealed he lotioned his toes in anticipation of Kimmel calling attention to his exposed foot. “I had a feeling you were going to do this,” he told him. The security guard’s pre-show toe prep also apparently included having his wife clip his toenails, but she left a few straybehind hairs that seemed to particularly perturb Kimmel.

“This is a weird spot to have a hair,” Kimmel remarked as he closely analyzed Rodriguez’ lower digits. After procuring a pair of tweezers, the host set about to personally tweeze the “rogue” hairs on Rodriguez’ right foot.

First though, things reached peak weirdness when Kimmel inspired his warm-up comic Don Barris to rub his mustache against Rodriguez’ toes.

“Good grooming is so important on television,” Kimmel reminded

The unaired, um, footage is available for viewing at the top of this post.
