James Corden to Guest with Former Late-Night Rival Seth Meyers

James Corden and Seth Meyers, who spent nearly a decade as friendly timeslot competitors when Corden helmed The Late Late Show on CBS, will reunite on Late Night with Seth Meyers next Monday, September 8.

The appearance marks Corden’s first visit to an American late-night program in almost 18 months. He exited his CBS series in May 2023 with a finale that memorably featured appearances from his each of his fellow network late-night hosts—Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, and Jimmy Fallon—as well as cameos from David Letterman and Trevor Noah.

Corden will be on Late Night to promote his return to Broadway in the revival of Yasmina Reza’s 1998 Tony Award-winning play Art. The production is currently in previews and officially opens on September 16.

This won’t be Corden’s first sit-down with Meyers. He has guested on Late Night three times previously, most recently in January 2024. Around that same time, he also made post-Late Late Show appearances with Fallon and Kimmel. The lone network late-night desk he hasn’t visited since leaving CBS is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, though Corden did appear on Colbert’s show six times between 2015 and 2020.

Also appearing on Late Night Monday is  musician/actress Ashlee Simpson.

Late Night with Seth Meyers  airs weeknights at 12:37am on NBC, with episodes streaming the following day on Peacock. Visit our lineups area for updated guest listings for all the late-night shows, and subscribe to our newsletter to get stories like this in your inbox.

Did CBS REALLY offer James Corden a new contract when his show lost 60 MILLION dollars per year? Sounds about right.
