Government Cheese Cast to Compete On After Midnight

Another cast takeover is afoot at After Midnight. Three stars of the new Apple TV+ series Government Cheese will compete on Taylor Tomlinson’s late-night panel show this week.

Actors David Oyelowo, Bokeem Woodbine, and Simone Missick are the scheduled panelists for After Midnight’s Thursday, May 1 episode.

Set in 1969, Government Cheese is a period dramedy starring Oyelowo as Hampton Chambers, an ex-con newly released from prison who has had a religious epiphany and tries to reconnect with his family. The series released its first four episodes last week, and will continue to roll out new episodes each Wednesday through May 28.

Oyelowo stopped by CBS’ other late-night show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, to promote Government Cheese on the day of its release.

Though it’s set to end its two-season run in June, After Midnight hasn’t stopped making the most of its time left on the air. It recently held its first-ever tournament week, and continues to air theme epsiodes for shows both inside and outside of the CBS family.

Most recently, Tomlinson welcomed three cast members from new CBS daytime soap Beyond the Gates. She’s done the same for the network’s comedy Ghosts, as well as shows like Star Trek: Lower Decks, All That and This Is Us.

After Midnight‘s Government Cheese cast takeover airs Thursday, May 1, on CBS at 12:37am. It will also stream the next day on Paramount+.
