The Daily Show isn’t the only late-night-styled show headed to Milwaukee for this summer’s Republican National Convention.
Fox News announced Wednesday that Gutfeld! will also be broadcasting live from Milwaukee from July 15 through July 18. Instead of airing in its usual time slot at 10 pm ET/7pm PT, the cable news network’s popular late-night panel show will air an hour later—at 11 pm ET/8 pm PT.
The later time slot (which is where Gutfeld! originally aired before it was moved up to 10 pm a year ago) will pit the show directly against The Daily Show and the first half-hour of the three network late-night shows.
Greg Gutfeld and his regular panelist Kat Timpf are both set to make the trip. They’ll be joined by three other guests each night in front of a live studio audience in Milwaukee’s Deer District.
2024 has been very good to Gutfeld!, which is delivering its most-watched year in program history, with an average 2.2 million viewers overall and 291,000 viewers in the 18-54 demo Nielsen live-plus-same-day data. As Fox News and Gutfeld’s legion of fans are quick to point out, that’s more than each of the more left-leaning traditional late-night shows, although Gutfeld! benefits from an earlier start time, airing at 10 pm in the east and 7 pm in the west.
Gutfeld! and The Daily Show are currently the only late-night shows that have announced plans to broadcast from the Republican National Convention in July, but the following month will see Stephen Colbert take his Late Show on its very first road trip as it broadcasts from Chicago for the Democratic National Convention. The Daily Show will also be in Chicago that week, but there’s no word yet on whether Gutfeld! will join them.
