Fallon and Kimmel Huddle Up in Latest Late-Night Crossover

Late-night rivals turned collaborators Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel are taking their friendly rivalry into primetime.

Tuesday’s episode of On Brand with Jimmy Fallon will feature Kimmel joining Fallon for a football-season marketing challenge tied to Captain Morgan. The hour sees the Tonight Show host and his ABC counterpart introducing contestants to the episode’s task: developing an ad campaign built around “bringing crews together” on and off the field.

“Hello creatives,” Kimmel bellows via the MetLife Stadium video board, drawing a mock-surprised reaction from Fallon. Kimmel then lays out the challenge for the assembled contestants: “To win the Captain Morgan account, you’re going to work together.”

The crossover marks another collaboration between the two 11:35 p.m. mainstays, who famously swapped shows for April Fools’ Day in 2022, co-hosted the Strike Force Five podcast during the 2023 writers’ strike, and appeared together in an episode of Fallon’s primetime Password series last year.

Kimmel’s appearance in a Captain Morgan-branded episode is on-brand in itself. Jimmy Kimmel Live! has featured multiple sponsored segments for the rum brand over the years, part of a long-running partnership with Diageo, Captain Morgan’s parent company. Most recently, ahead of last year’s Super Bowl, Kimmel sent sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez to New Orleans to “rechristen” Bourbon Street as “Rum Street.”

Tuesday’s episode, titled “The Super Bowl Is the Holy Grail,” hints at another Captain Morgan push tied to football’s biggest stage.

On Brand with Jimmy Fallon is midway through its eight-episode first season, airing twice weekly since its September 30 premiere. Previous installments have centered on campaigns for Dunkin’, Southwest Airlines, Marshalls, and Sonic.

Kimmel’s episode airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on NBC and streams next day on Peacock. Remaining episodes will continue Fridays at 8 p.m. through October 31.

the comment I want to leave is I would have had a Captain Morgan football team call a special player in that has a funky Captain Morgan helmet who runs down the field and catches a touchdown to win the game and then the scoreboard telling them the score of Captain Morgan team winning and then flick quickly too them receiving a trophy with a Captain Morgan bottle embedded into the trophy as they hold it up in the air and the team lifts up the winning player that came into the game up on a pirate ship looking stage. my number is 567-805-1944 if you want to see my comments and ideas for this. I’m a Communications major and done Communications videography photography and music and video production my whole life I’m 50 years old
