Conan O’Brien Must Go Season 2 Gets Trailer, Release Date

Conan O’Brien fans are finally getting an extended look at the long-awaited second season of Conan O’Brien Must Go—and they won’t have to wait much longer to see the whole thing.

Max has released the official trailer for the Emmy-winning series’ Season 2 return, and confirmed a May 8 release date for the show’s season premiere. (Episodes will then drop weekly through May 22nd.)

Featured in the trailer are our first official glimpses of several of O’Brien’s overseas antics that leaked out in the press during the show’s production over 2024, including his performance with Austrian metal band Cringe Blizzard and his participation in the world’s largest haka.

The latter was done alongside director Taika Waititi, who joined O’Brien on his visit to Waititi’s native New Zealand. “It’s very important to get a local guide,” O’Brien says in the trailer.

For his visit to Spain, that guide was none other than Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem (Bardem’s involvement was first revealed at a screening of the Season 2 premiere at Netflix’s “This Is Not a Fiction” documentary last week. O’Brien reportedly shares a hotel bed with Bardem in their episode.)

The trailer also provides first looks at other moments from O’Brien’s journeys around the world. He can be seen watching a newly married couple bungee jump, skiing with Jordan Schlansky, and playing co-pilot in the cockpit of a plane.

The second season of Conan O’Brien Must Go will see the host visit Spain, Austria, and New Zealand. Originally intended to be six episodes, Max rejiggered its release schedule after O’Brien was tapped to host this year’s Oscars, shortening Season 2 to three episodes, but ging the series an early renewal for a six-episode Season 3. The trailer’s release comes just weeks after O’Brien returned to Vienna to shoot last-minute additions to the Austria episode.

Season 2 of Conan O’Brien Must Go debuts Thursday, May 8 on Max. New episodes will drop weekly each Thursday through May 22.
