Colbert and After Midnight Are Dark This Week

CBS late night is taking a week-long break.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and After Midnight with Taylor Tomlinson will both be airing repeats from February 10-14.

Colbert and Tomlinson’s break coincides with a buzzy week for their late-night competitors on NBC. As the network gears up for SNL50: The Anniversary Special this Sunday, February 16th, both Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers are set to hype the event all week long.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will feature a string of SNL alumni as guests throughout most of the week, while Late Night with Seth Meyers has a week of interviews with former writers from the show planned. Over on the NBCUniversal-owned Bravo, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen—also new this week—will devote one night to a “Women of SNL” panel.

ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! will produce new episodes this week as well.

Colbert will return on Monday, February 17th. After Midnight’s break extends one day more, with Tomlinson returning on Tuesday the 18th.

During their time off, Tomlinson will perform a string of four standup dates at The Chicago Theatre between February 12-15. Colbert, meanwhile, may or may not be showing up at SNL’s 50th anniversary special as David Schwimmer’s plus-one.

The Late Show and After Midnight aren’t the only late-night hosts set take to take some time off this month.

Fallon, Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show will all be off the week of February 17th, with all but Meyers returning on the 24th. (Late Night with Seth Meyers is set to return with new episodes on March 3rd.)

This is the worst time for them to be off! We are in the midst of a coup & they might be the only media certain people pay attention to! Head up everyone… by Prsidents Day we may only have Dictator Musk.

Colbert takes way too much time off, in my opinion. More than any other late night show.
Gives me time to switch to another show.
