Colbert, After Midnight Are Dark Next Week

CBS late night is taking a week-long break.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and After Midnight With Taylor Tomlinson will be dark next week as their respective teams gear-up for the final push into Election Day. Both shows will air repeats Monday October 7 through Friday October 11th.

They’re scheduled to return with new episodes Monday October 14th.

Stephen Colbert and his wife Evie McGee Colbert will be using some of the show’s time off to promote their new book,  Does This Taste Funny? Recipes Our Family Loves. The couple have events scheduled tonight at New York City’s Town Hall, and Monday in Charleston, South Carolina.

Taylor Tomlinson, meanwhile, will be out on the road (as she is most weekends). Her “Save Me” comedy tour will take her to Buffalo, New York this weekend, and Des Moines, Iowa late next week.

The Late Show and After Midnight aren’t the only late-night hosts set take to take some time off this month.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night With Seth Meyers are both scheduled to take off the week of October 14th, while Jimmy Kimmel Live! will follow the week of October 21.

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show will be powering through, making them not only “The Best f*cking News Team Ever,” but the also the hardest working production team in late-night–this month, anyway.

All six shows are expected be back in full force the week before the election.
