After Midnight ain’t afraid of no ghosts—nor a little bit of CBS synergy.
Taylor Tomlinson will be joined by a full panel of cast members from the hit CBS series Ghosts tonight as Utkarsh Ambudkar, Betsy Sodaro, and Punam Patel each take places behind the show’s three player podiums.
It won’t be the first time After Midnight has conjured Ghosts. Ambudkar first appeared back in April, and Tomlinson hosted the show’s first all-Ghosts panel last July, which consisted of Patel, Sodaro, and Richie Moriarty. Tonight’s booking is intended to hype the show’s mid-season return. Its first new episode since December airs next Thursday, January 30th.
After Midnight, meanwhile, is just one day into its return to the air following its own unplanned hiatus caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.
Theme shows in general are not new for After Midnight. In addition to its earlier Ghosts theme show, other episodes of the show has assembled cast members from Star Trek: Lower Decks, All That and This Is Us.
As we’ve reported, last week marked the one-year anniversary of After Midnight‘s January 2024 CBS debut. The game show parody featuring three comic “contestants” riffing on internet news and memes is produced at a fraction of the cost of the show it replaced—The Late Late Show with James Corden—and now regularly outdraws its competition among viewers in the all-important 18-49 demo.
After Midnight’s all-Ghosts episode airs on CBS tonight at 12:37 a.m. ET, and will stream tomorrow on Paramount+.
My favorite late night show. On my youngest brother’s visit I had him watch with me. He said he never watched because he did not see how this concept was going to work. After watching he was surprised how good it was.
