Late Night This Week: Who’s on and Who’s Gone

Late night’s slow march to Labor Day continues this week, with Rosie O’Donnell taking over Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Jimmy Fallon squeezing in one more week of originals before his own late-summer break. Elsewhere, Watch What Happens Live is dark, while Bill Maher and John Oliver are both new for one more week.

Here’s who’s on and off the week of August 17, 2026:

Jimmy Kimmel Live!

On, with guest host Rosie O’Donnell. Jimmy Kimmel is the waning weeks of his annual summer vacation, but Jimmy Kimmel Live! is still in originals with O’Donnell serving as the show’s penultimate summer guest host.

O’Donnell opens her week Monday with Hannah Waddingham, Ana Gasteyer, and the Linda Lindas, followed by Jean Smart and Richard Gadd on Tuesday. Charlie Day, Janelle James, and Ashley McBryde visit Wednesday, with Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, Shawn Hatosy, and Sydney James Harcourt closing out the week Thursday. Bella Brown is scheduled to sit in with The Cletones throughout the week.

Jelly Roll is set to close out Kimmel’s summer guest-host run next week. Kimmel himself is expected back Tuesday, September 8.
