The New York Times shadowed the Tonight Show host Tuesday night as he made his Broadway debut in Simon Rich’s All In: Comedy About Love.

“There’s almost a singularity between them,” explains ‘All In’ director Alex Timbers of the duo, who first met at SNL. Rich agrees, telling Mulaney, “There’s a ton of your voice that has infiltrated my writing.” Mulaney replies: “That’s very cool. And a real shame.”
