Victoria Jackson Reveals Terminal Cancer Diagnosis

Former Saturday Night Live cast member Victoria Jackson has revealed a terminal cancer diagnosis.

Jackson, 65, gave an update on her health in a YouTube video yesterday, explaining that she has an inoperable tumor on her windpipe stemming from a previous battle with breast cancer.

“They cannot operate and cut out the marble in my chest that is laying on my windpipe, and eventually would suffocate me to death,” Jackson said.

“They’re giving me a magic pill. It’s going to be delivered to my front door within the next 12 hours,” she added. “It’s based on ribociclib, and it will shrink the marble hopefully.”

Jackson went on to explain that, after researching the treatment, she doesn’t expect to live another three years.

“I looked up the pill on Google, and it says people who take this have 32.6 months to live.” (She corrected this estimate to 34.8 months on Instagram.)

Jackson first shared that her cancer may have returned in July, revealing that a year-long bout of coughing she had been suffering was found to be the result of an enlarged lymph node blocking her windpipe. Jackson was previously diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016.

Despite the tragic update, Jackson expressed being at peace in her video.

“I’ve had a fantastic life,” she told her followers, quoting a Bible passage about life expectancy. “The other night, when I was laying in the darkened bed, I thought I heard God say, ‘Ready to come home?’”

“Life is an adventure,” she wrote in the video description.

Jackson was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1986 through 1992, and regularly appeared in desk bits on “Weekend Update.” She’s also known for her role in “Weird Al” Yankovic’s cult classic 1989 comedy UHF.

I hope SNL (Lorne) reaches out to Victoria. One last sketch/cameo for 50th year.

I loved Victoria’s character, Teri, on UHF (just got through watching UHF 8/25/2024–great, well done and funny movie!) I am sad about her diagnosis. God Bless Her.
